If your database administrator added a secure connection to SQL server, then SA Server will throw an error inside the sdtout.log and on admin portal home page database-related error.

1. Download Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Driver 3.0 (sqljdbc_3.0.1301.101_enu.exe) from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=21599

2. Stop saserver service

3. backup the existing sqljdbc.jar (from path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Gemalto\SAServer5.2.68\AuthenticationServer\webapps\saserver\WEB-INF\lib )and place outside of appliation files.

4. Insert the file (sqljdbc4.jar) in the path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Gemalto\SAServer5.2.68\AuthenticationServer\webapps\saserver\WEB-INF\lib

5. rename the new file to its original name sqljdbc.jar

6. Edit the hibernate file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Gemalto\SAServer5.2.68\AuthenticationServer\webapps\saserver\WEB-INF\classes\sas_config

add the encryption part as for example:

<property name="connection.url">jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=SAS_5268;

SelectMethod=cursor;encrypt=true;trustServerCertificate=false;hostNameInCertificate=SASERVER.SA.COM</property>

7. Start the sasever(port#) service again.

More information

You will need to have ssl enabled in Setup Portal and and having the same CA root certificate as the one that issued for Server machine where your MSSQL database is located. In our example SASERVER.SA.COM is the full name of the computer where MSSQL database is located.
