IDPrime .Net card on Windows XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2
The User PIN in a IDPrime .NET card can be changed in different ways depending on the operating system used.
For Windows XP or Server 2003, a Smart Card PIN Tool is provided.
This PIN tool is part of a the Smart Card Base CSP package KB909520 available via Windows Update. You probably already have installed this package on the machine since you are using a IDPrime .NET card.
For Windows Vista and later, the so-called secure desktop can be used.
The PIN to be entered must follow the Administrator PIN Policy defined. The default PIN allowed PIN size is 4 to 255 characters.
The "Unblock" tab in the PIN Tool can be used to unblock your PIN. See the FAQ "How can I unblock the PIN on the card?" for more details.
If you use Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2 an optional IDPrime .NET credential provider is available that allows managing multiple PIN.
