When I try to connect to the card using one of the AC tools, it says "the card is not recognized". I know the card is supported by AC. How can I make it work?

You can manually add the ATR of the card in the registry. For example, in order add the support for the Cyberflex 64k v2c card, the following keys need to be added in the registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schlumberger\Smart Cards and Terminals\Smart Cards\Cyberflex Access 64K (V2)]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais\SmartCards\Schlumberger Cyberflex Access 64K v2]
The parameters can vary depending on what card you're adding.
